- Abstract
This dataset shows the Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve area. This site is currently the only designated marine protected area in Barbados. This Park spans several kilometres along the mid-west coast and currently has four well developed fringing reefs, several patch reefs and an offshore bank reef. There are currently four reserve zones: Two sport areas (Northern and Southern Watersports Zones) where motorized aquatic sports such as water skiing, jet skiing and para-sailing are permitted, a Scientific zone and a Recreation zone which permits snorkelling , swimming etc.
